The incident began on Sunday, Nov. 24, just before 1:30 p.m., when a vehicle driven by Tierra Turner was seen traveling erratically and in the wrong direction near Exit 62 on I-84 East in Manchester, according to Connecticut State Police.

The vehicle, a white 2012 Honda Accord, was first reported to have stopped on the left shoulder before it continued east in the right lane erratically, State Police said.

Authorities said the vehicle then turned around on the active highway, traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes, including the HOV lane and swale, according to State Police.

Turner, of Hartford, engaged troopers in a pursuit that was eventually terminated, State Police said. Turner was later found in East Windsor, where she was taken into custody and processed on multiple charges, including:

  • Reckless driving;
  • Engaging police in pursuit;
  • First-degree reckless endangerment;
  • Disorderly conduct;
  • Several traffic violations.

Turner was released from custody on a $25,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday, Nov. 25, at 9 a.m., according to State Police. She remains in the custody of East Windsor Police on separate charges stemming from a prior incident in East Windsor, police said.
